When I began working on American Carnage, the challenge was immediately clear: the film lives across several different worlds, and each of those worlds carries its own musical identity. The characters come from very different backgrounds, and the environments they move through constantly shift in tone and culture. The score needed to reflect that diversity while still feeling like a single cinematic voice.
I approached the music as a blend of genres that could represent the different characters and spaces within the story. Elements of pop, reggaeton, rap, and rock became part of the palette, each bringing its own energy and perspective. The challenge was not simply to place these styles side by side, but to weave them together in a way that felt cohesive. The goal was to let each musical language support the character it belongs to while still forming a unified score that moves with the film.
